DUSHANBE, November 4, 2011, Asia-Plus -- During his working visit to Istanbul, tajik Foreign minister Hamrokhon Zarifi has held talks with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
Zarifi’s meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Saleh focused on state and prospects of further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran. They also touched upon issues related to the Afghan problems and the Conference for Security and Cooperation in the Heart of Asia that took lace in Istanbul on November 2.
The Afghan problems, support for reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy and involvement of all countries of the region in this process were a major topic of Zarifi’s discussions with Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.
Davutoglu informed Zarifi of contribution Turkey has made to reconstruction of Afghanistan’s economy and maintenance of peace in this country, the source said.
At the end of the talks, Hamrokhon Zarifi invited his Turkish counterpart to visit Tajikistan.
