DUSHANBE, December 20, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the United Nations Sirojiddin Aslov, who was also appointed Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Cuba, presented his credentials to Mr. Gladys M. Bejerano, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Sate of Cuba at the end of last week, the Tajik MFA information department reports.
In the course of the talks, the two reportedly discussed issues related to establishment of mutually beneficial economic cooperation between the Tajikistan and Cuba and Mr. Bejerano appreciated Tajikistan’s support for the UN resolution calling for the lifting of the decades-old economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States against Cuba in the aftermath of the Cold War.
During his stay in Havana, Tajik diplomat also met with senior representatives from the Foreign Ministry and a number of industrial enterprises of Cuba, the source said.
