DUSHANBE, February 7, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Pakistani commercial bank, Habib Bank, will open its branch in Dushanbe in the near future, Pakistani Ambassador to Tajikistan Amjad Hussain Barakat Ali Sial told reporters in Dushanbe on February 6.
According to him, there remains to be solved only some technical issues. “Besides, National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), which is one of the largest commercial banks operating in Pakistan, is also interested in opening its branch in Dushanbe,” Pakistani diplomat said.
Mr. Amjad Hussain Barakat Ali Sial also noted that his country would support projects aimed at construction of highways and rail links connecting China, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Pakistan and Iran.
“We have conducted negotiations with Tajik national air carrier and I can assure you that the direct air communication between Islamabad and Dushanbe and Islamabad will be launched soon,” he said.
