On Friday, May 4, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon met with the visiting Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Belgium Didier Reynders and Defense Minister of Belgium Pieter De Crem to discuss cooperation between the two countries.
Primary attention was given to peace and consent in Afghanistan and development of ties with Central Asia, President’s press service reports.
According to the source, Tajik President called Belgium one of Tajikistan’s most important partners in Europe and expressed his confidence that relations between the two countries will continue in the future.
“D.Reynders outlined the importance of development of relations with Tajikistan and on behalf of the Government of Belgium invited E.Rahmon to visit Brussels,” the source reported.
According to the source, the sides have also discussed implementation of agreements signed in the course of Tajikistan President’s visit to Belgium in February 2009.
