DUSHANBE, August 3, 2012, Asia-Plus -- A delegation of the Islamic revival Party (IRP), led by its deputy chairman, Mahmadali Hot, is expected to go to the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) tomorrow.

Mahmadali Hoit told Asia-Plus Friday afternoon that the purpose of the visit is for the delegation to get acquainted with the current social and political situation in the region.  During their stay in Gorno Badakhshan, the IRP activists are scheduled to hold meetings with the party members in the regions and representatives of various sections of the GBAO population.

“Meanwhile, head of IRP’s organization for Khorog Sherik Karamkhudoyev has been reported missing since July 24, when the government forces launched the military operation in the city,” Hoit told Asia-Plus in an interview.  “We do not have any information about his whereabouts,” Hoit added

As it had been reported earlier, the Islamic Revival Party on august 2 applied to the Prosecutor-General Sherkhon Salimzoda, requesting to launch investigation into the murder of Sabzali Mamadrizoyev, the head of IRP’s organization for Gorno Badakhshan.  In an official letter sent to Tajik chief prosecutor, IRP leader Muhiddin Kabiri noted that the monstrous murder of IRP regional head took place in the territory of the Khorog border unit on July 24.

We will recall that in a report released at a  news conference in Dushanbe, IRP leader Muhiddin Kabiri noted on July 30 that Mamadrizoyev participated in the demonstration in Khorog on July 23.  According to IRP, after the July 23 meeting, Sabzali Mamadrizoyev was detained by the law enforcement authorities and taken to the Khorog border unit, where he was severely beaten and then shot from the assault rifle Kalashnikov.  Mamadrizoyev’s body was found three days later and he was buried on July 26.

Sabzali Mamadrizoyev, 32, was elected to head IRP’s organization in Gorno Badakhshan on July 17, 2011.  As of January 1, 2012, IRP’s organization in Gorno Badakhshan reportedly had 3,000 members.
