On July 29, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin had a telephone conversation with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adel Al-Jubeir, according to the Tajik MFA information department.   

During the conversation, the sides reportedly discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral Tajik-Saudi relations in various areas, cooperation of the two countries within the international organizations and other issues of mutual interest.

On the subject of cooperation of the two countries in the field of healthcare and medicine, the two emphasized the importance of continuation of mutual aid and joint measures aimed at preventing the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Tajik MFA information department said.

Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir (born February 1, 1962) is a Saudi diplomat who is the former Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs and the current Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

He is reportedly the second person not belonging to the House of Saud to hold the office, after Ibrahim bin Abdullah Al Suwaiyel.  He previously served as the Saudi Ambassador to the United States from 2007 to 2015, and was also a foreign policy advisor to King Abdullah.
