IRNA reports that Iranian Parliament (Majlis) speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf said during a meeting with his Tajik counterpart Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda in Tehran on Wednesday that economic and trade cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan would benefit both countries.
Zokirzoda arrived in Tehran to represent his country in the inauguration ceremony of Iran's new President Ebrahim Raisi slated for Thursday afternoon.
During the meeting, Qalibaf expressed satisfaction with cordial relations between the two countries, urging the necessity to implement the already signed agreements between Tehran and Dushanbe.
The Tajik parliament speaker, for his part, said he was happy to participate in the inauguration ceremony of President Raisi.
Zokirzoda said that expansion of all-out ties with Iran is of special significance to Tajik officials.
