Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) Speaker Rustam Emomali, who is also the Mayor Dushanbe, yesterday received China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi.
According to the Dushanbe Administration press center, the parties discussed state and prospects of further expansion bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and China as well as cooperation between the two countries within regional and international organizations. .
It was reportedly noted that cooperation with China is one of priorities of Tajikistan’s foreign policy and efforts taken by the leaders of the countries to provide permanent development of relationships between the countries are unprecedented.
The Dushanbe Administration press center says special attention was given to expansion of inter-parliamentary ties between Tajikistan and China.
The parties also discussed political, economic and humanitarian cooperation between Tajikistan and China.
In this context, they reportedly discussed ways to ensure further expansion of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, industry, energy, tourism, education and agriculture as well as attraction of Chinese capital and advanced technologies in Tajikistan’s economy.
Emomali and Wang also exchanged views on the complex military and political situation in neighboring Afghanistan and the mutually beneficial cooperation in the area of security.
