Japanese diplomat told journalists following his meeting with the Tajik president that their talks focused on cooperation between the two countries in enhancement of agrarian sector in
Tajikistan
.
He stressed that
Tajikistan
had fertile lands and farmers should learn to effectively use them, especially in terms of growing vegetables and fruits. In this connection, Mr. Takahishi noted that
Japan
was ready to provide assistance to
Tajikistan
“not by funds but by technologies.”

Answering the questions, Hiroshi Takahishi noted that issue of cotton-growing farms’ debts was not discussed at the meeting. He recalled that since the Japanese Embassy was established in

in January 2002,

has provided various assistance to

in a total amount of US$80 million.
“Our cooperation in all sectors should be based on bilateral aspirations,” Japanese diplomat concluded.
