DUSHABE, April 10, Asia-Plus -- On Friday March 7, Tajik President Emomali Rahmonov and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation.
According to presidential press service, their talks focused on a state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation of Tajikistan and the Russian Federation. In the course of the talks the two discussed a progress of implementation of agreements in the fields of energy, non-ferrous metallurgy and far produce supplies to Russia that had been reached at their previous meetings.
Besides, the sides reached mutual understanding on a visit of Sergey Shoigu, Russian Emergencies Minister also co-chairman of the Tajik-Russian commission for economic cooperation, to Tajikistan for a complex consideration of a broad range of issues related to economic cooperation between the two countries.
During the telephone conversation heads of the two states also discuss regional cooperation and pointed to the necessity of intensification of activities in this direction, according to the source. Rahmonov and Putin also touched upon issues related to cooperation between Tajikistan and Russian in activities of regional and international organizations.
