, May 22, Asia-Plus -- Mahmadjon Mirzoyev has been relieved of his post of Director of the Dushanbe Zoo.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the
Dushanbe
mayor, says a working meeting of the
Dushanbe
mayor’s office that was held on May 22 confirmed appointment of Nazarali Sattorov to the post of Director of the Dushanbe Zoo. Some sources say Mahmadjon Mirzoyev was relieved of his post of the head of the

zoo following the recent accident in the zoo. As it had been reported earlier, a 10-year-old schoolgirl on May 1 received serious wounds in the accident in the zoo (bear bit off her hand).
The working meeting also considered the epidemiological-sanitary situation in the city. The Dushanbe Health Department is to take adequate measures to prevent spread of infectious diseases and raise infectious diseases awareness among the population.
