DUSAHNBE, June 1, Asia-Plus - President Emomali Rahmonov presided over a government session on May 31.   

According to information from presidential press service, some 60 items on the meeting''s agenda included endorsement of the national plan of actions on improvement of basic vocation education designed for 2006-2015, the national concept of youth policy in Tajikistan , and cooperation agreements with foreign countries. 

During the meeting it was noted that that 34 new programs for training of personnel have been worked out this year.  Head of state ordered relevant officials to take measures to raise quality of education at vocational-technical schools in Tajikistan .  

The meeting also endorsed the national concept of the youth policy in Tajikistan and the national program of training of personnel for culture, industry, and publishing designed for 2007-2010. 

The government also endorsed bills “On State Support for Agrarian Sector of Tajikistan”, and “Physical Training and Sports” that were sent consideration to the Majlisi Namoyandagon ( Tajikistan ’s lower chamber of parliament).   

The meeting also considered and approved a number of bilateral cooperation agreements concluded by Tajikistan with Afghanistan , China , Iran , Kyrgyzstan , Turkey , and other countries, as well as multilateral documents adopted within the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).  The government, in particular, approved a tripartite agreement between Tajikistan , Afghanistan and Iran on cooperation in the field of energy, long-term program and plan of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey , as well as an agreement between the SCO governments on education cooperation, etc.  

At the conclusion, President Rahmonov ordered relevant officials to take appropriate measures to provide Tajik-language schools in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan with teachers and textbooks.  

The president also demanded at the meeting that the course of preparations for the construction of the Shahristan, Shar-Shar and Chormaghzak tunnels, Sungtuda-2 power plant, power-transmission line South-North, as well as the second and the third phases of the project for the construction of the Kulob-Darvoz highway and the construction of the highway from Qurghon Teppa to Panji Poyon via Dusti should be speeded up.
