DUSHANBE, October 11, Asia-Plus -- Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament (Majlisi Namoyandagon) today approved a number of bills on amendments to the country’s law on military service and Administrative Code.
Mirzobek Hojiyev, member of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on Public Order, Defense and Security, noted that an amendment made to the RT Law “On the Military Service” requires an oath of loyalty to the president. Amendments to the Administrative Code provide measures of administrative responsibility for infringements, which had previously been punishable under the country’s Criminal Penal, according to him.
“Among these infringements are, fro example, offenses connected with keeping a small amount of drugs (fewer than five grams), which now, in accordance with amendments that had been made to the Criminal Code, are not punished by imprisonment,” Abdumannon Kholiqov, the head of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on Public Order, Defense and Security, noted.
The session also endorsed amendments made to the RT Laws “On Diplomatic Service” and “On Accounting.”
