President Emomali Rahmon, who is also the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of Tajikistan’s Armed Forces, has congratulated the country’s military personnel on the coming New Year.  New Year’s presents have been distributed to soldiers and officers as well families of servicemen, who died in the line of duty, on behalf of the president, according to the Tajik president’s official website.  

Thus, Muhammad Ulughzoda, a spokesman for the Main Border Guard Directorate at the State Committee for National Security (SCNS), says more than 200 tons of food products have been provided to make New Year’s delicious dinners for border guards.   .

Besides, 10 tons of food produces and winter clothes have been provided to distribute among families of border guards who died in the line of duty, Ulughzoda added.  

An official source at the country’s power-wilding authorities says New Year’s presents have also been distributed among students of Tajik military schools.

More than 300 tons of food product and sweets have reportedly been sent to military units of the Ministry of Defense (MoD) alone, the source said.
