Over the past three and half years (2020-2022 and the first half-year of 2023), prosecutors have reportedly issued 8,435 injunctions and 4,066 prosecutorial protests against local officials for violations of the procedure for allocating land plots, the Prosecutor-General’s Office says on its official website.
These figures were reportedly announced at an extended meeting of the Prosecutor-General’s Office Board that took place in Dushanbe on November 24.
Senior representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Interior Ministry, the State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy as well as chief prosecutors of the provinces, cities and districts participated the meeting.
It was noted during the meeting that 20,580 official and managers have been implicated in wrongdoing; disciplinary action has been imposed on 3,965 of them and administrative action has been imposed on 16,716 of them.
3,696 criminal proceedings have reportedly been instituted on facts of illegal transactions with land “and 49,151,720 hectares of lands have been restored to their original state.”
