Members of Tajikistan’s lower chamber (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of parliament have discussed and approved number of important agreement, according to the Majlisi Namoyandagon press center.

A regular sitting of the first session of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the seventh convocation, presided over by its head, Fayzali Idizoda, took place on April 16.  

MPs, in particular, approved the government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Kuwait on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and on capital.

In addition, Majlisi Namoyandagon members approved the bills on amendments to the law on strategic planning and state forecasting and on amendments to the law on state procurement.

The parliamentarians also discussed the bills on amendments to the country’s laws on medicines, medical products, and pharmaceutical activities, on Industrial safety of hazardous production facilities, and a draft resolution on the election of a representative of the Majlisi Namoyandagon to the Constitutional Court.

The mentioned bills were presented to lawmakers by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Zavqi Zavqizoda; Deputy Minister of Finance, Shamsullo Khayrullozoda; Director of the Agency for State Procurement of Goods, Works, and Services, Zaynullo Sharifzoda; Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population, Jamolidin Abdullozoda; Head of the State Supervision Service for Industrial Safety, Sanat Rahim; Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon Committee on Economics and Finance, Tohir Nabizoda.
