DUSHANBE , February 3, 2011, Asia-Plus – Video interrogation of person bearing resemblance to Alovuddin Davlatov, also known as Ali Bedaki, is being circulated in Tajikistan by mobile phones.

BBC’s Persian Service reports the vide show the interrogation of person, who looks like Alovuddin Davlatov.

Two people in military uniform interrogate the bearded man, whom they call “Ali Bedaki” or “Bedak.”   According to BBC’S Persian Service, the interrogated man bears a great resemblance to person who was shown on the Tajik national TV channel, Shabakai Avval (Channel One), and named as Alovuddin Davlatov killed in a special operation in Rasht district.

We will recall that Tajik security forces reportedly raided a building in the village of Runob in Rasht district, where a group of militants were sheltering, on January 4.   Interior Ministry official Tohir Normatov said Alovuddin Davlatov, a former field commander of the United Tajik Opposition (UTO), was among eight people killed in the operation.   Alovuddin Davlatov was one of the militant leaders the authorities blame for an ambush on a military convoy on September 19, 2010 that left 28 servicemen dead.

Representatives from the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) have refrained from commenting on the video interrogation.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry officials say the video is a fake.   Tohir Normatov, the chief of staff of the Ministry of Interior, said, “I saw that vide and may say that it is just an ordinary fake.”
