DUSHANBE, March 16, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Director of Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) Rustam Nazarov met here today with visiting Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha.
According to the DCA press service, the two considered issues related to the current drug situation in the region and cooperation between the CSTO member nations in combating drug trafficking, terrorism and extremism. Both sides vowed to boost further cooperation in combating drug trafficking in the region.
Today, Tajik drug control chief also met with the Security Council deputy secretaries from the CSTO member nations and members of the CSTO Working Group on Afghanistan.
Nazarov briefed them on the current drug situation in Tajikistan and opium production in Afghanistan as well as measures taken by the Tajik government to combat drug trafficking, the source said.
