DUSHANBE, April 23, 2011, Asia-Plus -- Some 12 kilograms of narcotics, with most of them being heroin, have been seized at the Dushanbe airport in January-March this year, the Dushanbe airport customs chief Zafar Muhammadiyev told reporters on April 22.
“Customs officers alone have seized 5.034 grams of heroin at the airport over the report period,” Muhammadiyev said.
Besides, 2.126 kilograms of heroin have been seized by officers from the transportation police station, 900 grams have been seized by drug control officers and officers from the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) have seized one kilogram of heroin at the Dushanbe airport over the report period, the airport customs chief noted.
