DUSHANBE, June 1, 2011, Asia-Plus - Two drug peddlers who were going to travel to Moscow with drugs in their stomachs were detained at the Dushanbe and Kulob airports on May 30, according to the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
“Female drug peddler, 23, who had ingested 75 wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 575 grams, was detained at the Dushanbe airport,” the source said.
An inspection of passengers on the Kulob-Moscow flight found 93 wraps of hashish, totaling 685 grams, hidden in two plastic bottles with mulberry juice belonging to Kulob resident, he added.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against both detained drug peddlers and an investigation is under way.
