Head of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Lieutenant General of Tajikistan Rustam Nazarzoda and State Minister for Natural Disasters and Humanitarian Affairs of the National Agency for Disaster Management of Afghanistan Najib Fahim in Dushanbe signed an agreement on the prevention and elimination of natural disasters.
According to the head of the press center of the CoES of the Republic, Umeda Yusufi, after the agreement comes into force, the rescuers of the two states, at the request of the official Dushanbe or Kabul, will be able to cross the border of two states without a visa for urgent rescue operations.
«The agreement reached allows rescuers of two states to take part in rescue operations that will be carried out only in the border regions of Tajikistan or Afghanistan», - said Yusufi.
At the same time, she emphasized that the Tajik side, after signing the agreement, stated that it can only participate in rescue operations in the border areas of Afghanistan that are controlled by Kabul.
