DUSHANBE, March 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- An exhibition dedicated to the Day of the Mother that is marked in Tajikistan on March 8 has opened at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe today.
According to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), the exhibition is organized by CCI in cooperation with Iranian exhibition company, Soroush-e Khorasan, under support of the Government of Tajikistan.
Fifteen Iranian companies and seven companies from other companies as well Tajik producers have put on display their products (gift sets for women, perfumery, clothes, souvenirs, and home appliances) at the fair that is lasting for five days.
We will recall that International Women’s Day has been known in Tajikistan as the Day of the Mother since March 2009. Congratulating women on March 8, 2009, President Emomali Rahmon said that International Women''s Day has only been celebrated on March 8 for about 100 years, but that ancient Aryan women -- the ancestors of the Tajiks -- had special days both for mothers, specifically, and for women in general.
