DUSHANBE, December 14, 2012, Asia-Plus -- Forty-three countries of the world have provided some 72 million U.S. dollars worth of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first eleven months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
More than 13,400 tons of wheat flour for some 7 million U.S. dollars, 658 tons of vegetable oil for more than one million U.S. dollars, US$32.5 million worth of medicines and medical equipment, footwear and clothing for more than 2.1 million U.S. dollars as well as food products and electrical appliances have been delivered to the country over the report period.
Among the donor countries the greatest share in value came from the United States – 47.5 percent, Russia – 10.7 percent, China – 9.2 percent, and the Netherlands – 5.3 percent.
