QURGHON TEPPA, January 10, 2013, Asia-Plus -- 136 cases of suicide were registered in Khatlon province last year, which is 14 cases more than in 2011, Varqa Zayniddinov, a senior aide to the Khatlon chief prosecutor, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, men committed suicide in 64 cases, women committed suicide in 71 cases and minors committed suicide in 15 cases.
The main reasons were family quarrels and mental diseases, the prosecutor noted.
Last year, local prosecutors reportedly instituted 14 criminal proceedings over the charge of driving to suicide.
