DUSHANBE, July 22, 2014, Asia-Plus – Abnormal hot weather is expected in Tajikistan within the next two days, Tajik Hydrometeorology Center reported on July 22.
In some areas, day temperature may rise to +45ºC.
According to the forecast of the Tajik Hydrometeorology Center, day temperatures at lower elevations in central Tajikistan and Sughd province will fluctuate from +37ºC to +42ºC and in some areas of the southern province of Khatlon day temperatures will fluctuate from +41ºC to +46ºC.
In foothills and mountain areas, day temperatures are expected to fluctuate from +33ºC to +38ºC.
Hot weather is expected to lead to increase in water levels in the snow-fed rivers (Vakhsh, Panj, Ghund, Bartang, Vanj, Yasgulem, Zaravshon, etc). Glacial mudflows are reportedly expected in mountain areas.
