DUSHANBE, August 7, 2014, Asia-Plus – An international investment forum, Pamir Invest 2014 , will take place in Khorog, the capital of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) from August 15-16, according to the Association of Entrepreneurs and Mountain Farmers “Milal Inter.”
Organized by the Association of Entrepreneurs and Mountain Farmers “Milal Inter” and the Public Foundation to Promote Cross-border Trade Cooperation in GBAO jointly with the GBAO regional administration, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI)’s office in GBAO, and the State Committee on Investment and State-owned Property Management under financial support of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan, VSO Tajikistan and GIZ Tajikistan and with support from Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), the forum is expected to bring together local and foreign investors, entrepreneurs and representatives of international organizations active in Tajikistan to discuss development of production enterprises in the region on the basis of use of domestic raw materials and attraction of local and foreign investments.
The forum participants will also discuss opportunities of development of tourism and relevant industries in Gorno Badakhshan and efficient use of economic opportunities of the Free Economic Zone (FEZ) Ishkashim.
The event will also touched upon issues related to overcoming administrative barriers in the way of development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Gorno Badakhshan and expanding regional entrepreneurial and investment cooperation.
A fair of products of local entrepreneurs and craftsmen will take place on the sideline of a two-day forum that is expected to result in signing of a number of cooperation documents.
