Rustam Jani has been removed from his position as the head of Aryana-Media holding, where he worked for over 11 years. Khudayar Vali, the former chief editor of Sada-i Dushanbe (Voice of Dushanbe) programs, has been appointed as Mr. Jani’s replacement.
Aryana-Media has told Asia-Plus that the decision to remove Rustam Jani from his post was taken on 11 August. Mr. Jani had been working as the Executive Director of the media holding for over 11 years, when Radio Aryana was created. Currently Aryana Media consists of Radio Aryana and Radio Imrouz (Today), which broadcasts since 2007.
In the meantime, contrary to some claims, Imrouz-News daily newspaper, established by Rustam Jani in 2010, is not part of the Aryana Media, and according to its staff, he continues to control the daily.
Asia-Plus correspondent was not able to contact Rustam Jani in order to find out the reasons of his departure.
