The Islamic Revival Party''s women activists in Soghd have officially addressed to the provincial office of the Committee on Women''s and Family Affairs, proposing to open schools for teaching Islamic cannons under grand mosques. Ilhamjan Yaqoubov, the Head of the IRPT in Soghd, reported about this to Asia-Plus.
According to him, the IRPT activists'' letter underlines that the proposal is based on the fact that in modern Tajikistan''s society morality is dropping day after day, which is related to unemployment, aggreviation of gender relations, and lack of religious education.
Mr. Yaqoubov noted: "The message notes that the parents, who know the cannons of real Islam themselves will never allow for the proliferation of fundamentalism and extremism."
