DUSHANBE, September 25, 2014, Asia-Plus – During a visit to the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), Deputy Prime Minister, Azim Ibrohim, sharply criticized poor preparations for winter period.
His criticism, directed at local officials in the region, came during an address to a meeting of regional administrators in Khorog, the capital of Gorno Badakhshan authorities.
Local authorities reportedly failed to properly provide educational, health and cultural facilities with coal and firewood.
Ibrohim also expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that the region’s roads that run through mountain passes are not provided with special technical equipment.
While in Gorno Badakhshan, the vice-premier also visited the Bartang Valley in the Rushan district to review energy and transportation projects that are being implemented in the area by the government and international donors, the source said.
