DUSHANBE, December 16, 2014, Asia-Plus – Two illegal underground religious schools have reportedly been shut down in Vahdat Township for not having permission to teach Islamic studies to children.
The Interior Ministry’s website reports that Vahdat resident Komiljon Ahrorov, 37, was arrested on December 15 for illegally teaching Islamic studies to children in his house. He had illegally taught Islamic studies to children during six years.
On the same day, another resident of Vahdat Township, Saidmumin Rashidov, 39, was reportedly arrested for similar crime. Rashidov had illegally taught Islamic studies to children during five years, the source said. Rashidov was reportedly cruel to children.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Ahrorov and Rashidov and an investigation is under way.
