DUSHANBE, January 9, 2015, Asia-Plus -- The number of cases of female delinquency has reportedly increased in the northern Sughd province.
Speaking to journalists in Khujand, the chairperson of the Sughd department for family and women’s affairs, Ms. Munavvara Dadaboyeva, noted on January 9 that 564 crimes were committed by women in Sughd last year, which is 92 cases more than in 2013.
According to her, the female delinquency growth was reported mainly in the cities of Khujand, Isfara and istiqlol as well as the districts of Asht, Ghonchi, Spitamen and Zafarobod.
“Meanwhile, the number of suicide cases among women decreased in the area,” noted Ms. Dadaboyeva. “122 cases of suicide were reported among local women last year, which is three cases fewer than in 2013.”
