Over 500 tons of food worth a total of 2.5 million somoni were received on May 21 by 5 thousand poor families, as well as people with disabilities in Dushanbe by order of the mayor of the capital, Rustam Emomali.
The set includes flour, rice, oil, sugar, pasta, cereals, a source in the administration of the city chairman said.
One-time food assistance was provided in honor of Idi Ramazon, which is celebrated in the country on May 24.
Rustam Emomali called on the heads of metropolitan areas, organizations and enterprises, businessmen in honor of the holiday to financially support the poor families of the city and people with disabilities.
