More than 4,000 Tajik students studying in the Russian Federation are waiting for Moscow permission to enter Russia.  Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan is monitoring the situation Tajik students are facing due to the impossibility of leaving for Russia to study.

Tajik MFA on August 24 reportedly informed the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe that more than 4,000 Tajik students studying in Russia are currently in Tajikistan and they cannot leave for Russia due to the coronavirus crisis.  More than 1,000 of them have entered Russian universities this year, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

The Tajik Foreign Ministry has asked the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe to assist in obtaining entrance permission for these students from the Operational Headquarters to Prevent the Import and Spread of a Novel Coronavirus Infection in Russia based on supporting documents (student card, certificate from the university and so forth).

The Tajik MFA information department says the issue is currently under consideration by the Russian side.
