Thirty-three countries of the world have provided about 6.6 million U.S. dollars’ worth of nearly 1,500 tons of humanitarian aid to Tajikistan over the first two months of this year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Over the reporting period, among donors countries the greatest share reportedly came from China – 37.3 percent; Russia – 12.9 percent; South Korea – 11.4 percent; India – 9.1 percent; Switzerland – 6.7 percent; Germany – 5.7 percent; the Netherlands – 3.0 percent; the United States, Japan, and the United Kingdom – 2.7 percent each; Sweden – 1.9 percent; and others.
Over the past decade, China has been one of major trading partners of Tajikistan. China is Tajikistan's largest source of investment and the third largest trading partner of Tajikistan following Russia and Kazakhstan. Over the past decade, China's direct investment in Tajikistan has totaled about 1 billion U.S. dollars.
