Schoolchildren from Russia’s Sverdlovsk Oblast have donated 10,000 books from their personal libraries to their peers in Tajikistan.  

Tajikistan’s Consulate General in Yekaterinburg the action on collection of books for schoolchildren in Tajikistan has been organized by the Sverdlovsk regional branch of the Russian Schoolchildren's Movement (RSCM). 

“The books have been collected by schoolchildren from 42 municipalities of the region,” a source within Tajikistan’s Consulate General in Yekaterinburg told Asia-Plus in an interview.  

Founded on October 29, 2015, the Russian Schoolchildren's Movement (RSCM) is a non-profit organization aiming to improve civic and national education.

RSCM is focused on ideological activity young people are involved in.  The main goal of the organization is reportedly to raise children in line with values Russian society has, including sports, love to homeland, its historical traditions, and culture.  Children should take care of the environment, nature and ecology.
