On September 22, 2021, H.E. Mr. MIYASHITA Takayuki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Tajikistan, together with Mr. Bobisho KHOLZODA, chairperson of Fayzobod district, attended a handover ceremony of successful completion of “The Project for Construction of School No. 66 in Ochildi Village, Chashmasor Jamoat, Fayzobod District”. The project was realized under the framework of Japan’s “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP)”. The Government of Japan provided the total grant amount of USD 90,176 to the Local Executive Authority of Fayzobod district for constructing a new school which consist with 6 classrooms, 1 teachers’ room and 1 director’s room.
Prior to the project implementation, there was no educational institution in Ochildi village, so the children of the village had to go to the school located more than 5km far from their village. Furthermore, in winter time the way to the school is in a very dangerous condition for the schoolchildren because of the heavy snow. Upon the project realization all of the children from 1st to 9th grades in Ochildi village can learn in a modern school building not going far from their house.
During the ceremony, Mr. MIYASHITA made the following remark: “It is my great pleasure to handover this brand-new school to Ochildi village today, to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the State Independence of Tajikistan. I wish to take this opportunity to congratulate all the schoolchildren, parents, teachers, and members of the community on the completion of this new school. Education is one of our priority areas of Japan-Tajik bilateral cooperation. It will bring well-being to every child and family, but in longer term, these children will be definitely a driving-force for the national development of Tajikistan. Today I am very much delighted to witness the successful completion of our joint efforts with the Chairman of Fayzobod District. I hope this new school will be maintained properly and be used by the schoolchildren of next generation.”
The Government of Japan is dedicated to continuing its support for creating a better society for all people and committed to working together with the people of Tajikistan.
