On Friday November 19t, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Tajikistan Takayuki Miyashita and Dushanbe-based Central Clinic No. 7 Director Abdujabbor Zikirzoda attended the handover ceremony of successful completion of “The Project for Improvement of Medical Equipment of Central Clinic No.7 in Dushanbe City”.
Japan’s Embassy in Dushanbe says the project was implemented within the framework of Japan’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). For equipping the clinic, the grant of US$90,850 was reportedly provided to Central Clinic No.7. With the successful project completion, the users of the clinic have an opportunity to receive improved medical services.
Prior to the project implementation, the clinic was in need of the X-ray system for more than 15,000 patients who visit the clinic for diagnosis annually. With the project completion, the clinic can provide an accurate and prompt diagnosis. Therefore, this project can improve the clinic operation and bring a great benefit to patients and staff of the clinic.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Miyashita made the following remarks, “It is my great pleasure to handover a brand new X-Ray system to this hospital today, to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of State Independence of Tajikistan. This high quality X-ray system will contribute to accurate diagnoses of the doctors and to effective treatments for the patients. I hope the equipment will be maintained properly and contribute to the healthy life of the people in Tajikistan for many years to come.”
The Government of Japan is dedicated to continuing its support for creating a better society for all people and committed to working together with the people of Tajikistan.
GGP is a scheme within Japan’s Official Development Assistance. GGP, in particular, implements grassroots-level projects in various sectors throughout Tajikistan. Recipients of GGP grants include local governments, educational and medical institutions, and NGOs. As of today, GGP has supported 437 projects in Tajikistan, for which US$35.8 million has been allocated since 1996.
