On Thursday February 10, Mr. Qozidavlat Qoimdodov, the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN)'s Resident Representative, met with Ms. Sezin Sinanoglu, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, according to the AKDN Resident Office in Tajikistan.
The meeting reportedly took place at the UN Office in Dushanbe.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to the mutually beneficial cooperation between the United Nations and AKDN in various fields.
During the meeting, it reportedly was underlined that joint programs and projects of AKDN, and UN have been making a significant contribution to improving the well-being of the Tajik people for many years.
At the end of the meeting, the parties have expressed readiness and interest in further strengthening constructive and long-term cooperation.
AKDN and its agencies focus on empowering and improving the lives of people in developing countries.
AKDN programs are aimed at the well-being of all people, regardless of race, nationality or religion.
The Resident Coordinator’s Office in Tajikistan supports the work of the UN Resident Coordinator and coordinates activities of the UN Country Team in its engagement with the Government as defined by the UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF).
The Resident Coordinator is leading and strategically positioning the United Nations country team in Tajikistan to respond to the current national priorities. The Office has five core functions:
strategic planning; economic development; partnerships and development finance; data, results management and reporting; and communications and advocacy.
