Russian media reports say President Putin yesterday announced during the Russian Security Council that martial law was introduced in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPT), the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) as well as in Kherson and Zaporozhye oblasts. Heads of these regions will be given additional powers to ensure security.
Speaking at the meeting, Putin reportedly noted that top officials must pay attention to the implementation of measures for anti-terrorist protection of critical facilities.
Russian leader said: “The Kiev regime has refused to negotiate and continues to shell new Russian territories using terrorist methods.”
Putin reportedly also declared the need to change the state migration policy due to the changes taking place in the world.
TASS reports that by president’s decree the martial law comes into force at midnight on October 20, 2022. All four regions are in the same time zone as Moscow.
