The press center of Somon Air reported today that “On December 13, 2022, the national air carrier of Tajikistan Somon Air operated the first flight from Dushanbe to Islamabad.”
In the near future, as part of the route network expansion program, Somon Air plans to operate flights to Pakistan on a regular basis, which will serve as a new impetus for the development of bilateral relations between the two states.
This year, the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan turned 30 years old, and the opening of a direct flight in this landmark year is designed to strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian, economic, trade and tourism fields, the says the press center.
It should be noted that Dushanbe and Islamabad are on the same time zone and passengers of this flight do not need to change to another time. Travel time from Dushanbe to Islamabad is 90 minutes; flights will be operated by comfortable Boeing 737 - 800/900 aircraft.
The press center says Somon Air has been successfully operating in the international market since 2008, is a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Somon Air's fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and 737-900 family aircraft. The company is focused on expanding the route network of air transportation and the fleet, and currently operates regular flights from Tajikistan to Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, India, Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
