QURGHON TEPPA, January 3, Asia-Plus - In 2005, 290 fires were reported in southern province of Khatlon, which is four cases more compared to the previous year, Asia-Plus has learned from Umed Rahmonov, a spokesman for the Khatlon firefighting service.
A total damage caused by those 290 fires to the region’s economy has amounted to 535,761 Somonis, according to him. Rahmonov also noted that heads of enterprises and organizations have been fined a total of 169,563 for not fulfilling requirements of the fire-prevention measures.
