DUSHANBE, April 8, 2011, Asia-Plus -- The U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Robert O. Blake is scheduled to arrive in Tajikistan on April 11, a reliable source at the government said.
According to him, President Emomali Rahmon will receive the US Assistant Secretary of State on April 12. The sides are expected to discuss a broad range of issues related to bilateral political, economic and security cooperation between Tajikistan and the United States in field. They will also discuss ways to establish peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The main purpose of a two-day visit is for the high-ranking U.S. diplomat to attend annual bilateral consultations between the governments of Tajikistan and the United States, the source said.
On April 12, Mr. Blake will meet with reporters in Dushanbe.
