Tajik President yesterday met in Sharm al-Sheikh, Egypt with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mark Rutte on the sideline of COP27.
The Tajik president’s official website says the parties discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Netherlands as well as cooperation between the two countries within international organizations, including the United Nations.
Rahmon reportedly expressed satisfaction with the level of friendship and cooperation and diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
The 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands was marked on July 27, 2022.
During the meeting, it was reportedly noted that there are many opportunities to expand cooperation between the two countries in various economic and commercial fields, including energy and communication, industry, agriculture, finance, tourism, as well as social and cultural collaboration, especially in the domain of education.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, interest was expressed in financial, commercial and investment capacities of the Netherlands, as well as the use of the rich experience of its companies in the development of Tajikistan’s economy, especially in the fields of agriculture, transport, tourism, technologies and new technologies for the processing of agricultural products.
At the end of the talks, Emomali Rahmon invited the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte, to visit Tajikistan on an official visit at an appropriate time. The invitation was reportedly accepted with pleasure.
