DUSHANBE, September 18, Asia-Plus - Dushanbe Mayor, Mahmadsid Ubaidulloyev, presided over a meeting of the mayor’s office on September 18.
Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor, said issues related to sanitary and ecological situation in the capital were in the center of discussions.
Bahrom Madaliyev, the head of the Dushanbe department for environmental protection, reported on the present sanitary and ecological situations in the city.
During the meeting it was noted that raids by the Dushanbe officials to monitor the ecological situation in the city and control over pulling down unauthorized residential buildings in Dushanbe had recorded numerous instances of violation, and the work of the Dushanbe department for the environmental protection as well as authorities of the Sino and Firdavsi districts of Dushanbe on this subject had been found unsatisfactory.
Ubaidulloyev demanded at the meeting that the situation should be put right in the shortest time.
Besides, Ubaidulloyev urged the relevant bodies of the Dushanbe mayor’s office to take measures to improve the aesthetic appearance of the city.
The mayor also ordered to take adequate bodies to tighten animal control measures to catch stray dogs in Dushanbe.
The meeting also discussed preparations for the autumn-winter period of 2006-2007.
