The Government of Tajikistan on the instruction of President Emomali Rahmon has sent a humanitarian aid to Afghanistan for quake-hit families. 

A convoy of 130 trucks carrying a total of 3,250 tons of humanitarian aid headed towards Afghanistan today.  

The humanitarian aid includes winter clothes and shoes, food products, building materials, tents, blankets, beddings, drinking water, 20 tons of  peeled barley, 200 tons of wheat flour, 50 tons of sugar, 2,000 liters of vegetable oil, 20 tons of rice, 20 tons of peas and so forth.   нах.

Meanwhile, the United Nations noted on October 16 that the humanitarian community in Afghanistan has created an initial response plan for recovery, focusing on 114,000 people whose homes were destroyed or badly damaged. The plan may be revised as necessary.

The powerful earthquakes, have added to “a mountain of hardship” facing Afghans, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) said on Monday.

According to OCHA, about 43,000 people (7,165 families) are reported to have been directly affected by the earthquakes and their aftershocks across the region.  More than 3,300 homes are reported to have been destroyed, 2,100 severely damaged, and 1,700 moderately damaged.
