DUSHANBE, November 20, Asia-Plus -- A roundtable meeting entitled “Tajikistan’s Culture Development Concept: Experience and Problems of the Implementation” is opening in Dushanbe today.
Rukhshona Olimova, media program coordinator, Tajik Branch of Open Society Institute/Assistance Foundation (OSI/AF), said the meeting is dedicated to generalize know-how and elaborate specific recommendations on implementation of the culture development concept in different fields of culture and arts.
According to her, the concept has been elaborated by a group of researchers and experts in the fields of culture and arts under support of the Tajik Branch of OSI/AF and implementation of it started after adoption of the Tajik government of an appropriate resolution on December 30, 2005.
“Over the past period, a positive experience has been gained in implementation of the concept’s provisions on improvement of activities of cultural facilities,” said Olimova, “However, a number of organizational and methodological problems have arisen during a process of implementation of the concept.”
The meeting participants, including representatives from president’s office, ministry of culture, regional culture directorates, as well as researchers and experts, are also discussing ways of seeking solution to these problems.
An official presentation of popular science magazine “Farhang va Hunar” (Culture and Art), published under support of the Culture and Art Program of the Tajik Branch of SI/AF, will be held on during the meeting, the media program coordinator said.
