DUSHANBE, November 30, Asia-Plus -- Russia’s Gosfilmfond (national stock of films) has handed over to Tajikistan 112 films that were made by Tajik filmmakers in the 20th century already.
According to Tajik Cinematographers’ Union, the collection has been handed over to Tajikistan on an initiative of Mahmadsaid Pirov, the director of Tajik national TV channel Safina, who ordered copies of old Tajik films at Russia’s Gosfilmfond.
The collection includes the first Tajik films such as “When Emirs Die” (1932), “Live God” (1934), and “Emigrant” (1934).
The TV channel Safina intends to demonstrate the films beginning from the next year.
