KHUJAND, June 9, Asia-Plus -- A group of Tajik actors returned from Paris on June 7. They showed performance “Nido” (Invocation), staged by known Tajik stage director Barzou Abdurazzoqov, during the International Festival, Spring in Paris, that was held in the French capital from May 9 to June 7, Akbar Mahmoudov, art director of Khujand Drama And Music Comedy named after Kamol Khujandi, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, Tajik actors participated in the festival for the first time. “In Paris, we also saw performances by our colleagues from other Eurasian countries, including Georgia and Macedonia,” Mahmoudov said.
“The performance has radically differed from that that was shown in Khujand,” said the art director, “We have used new theatre sets. French audience liked the performance so much that they wanted to see it once again this autumn.”
He added that various meetings, excursions and joint show program, prepared by festival participants, were held on the sidelines of the festival in Paris.
