DUSHANBE, November 22, 2012, Asia-Plus – The “Arzhang” Cultural Center organizes an event on November 25 dedicated to the headwear of ethnic groups living in Tajikistan.

Press release issued by the Arzhang Center, in particular, notes that various ethnic groups - Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Russians, Tatars, Germans, Koreans, Laqais, Jews and many others – represent the people of Tajikistan.

“Every mentioned nationality, no doubt, has its own national dress, one of the main elements of which is hats.  Tajiks themselves have broad range of hats – starting with Sogdian / Ferghana with white and black tones to bright Badakhshan and Kulob motives...

“We want to bring together the representatives of different ethnicities of Tajikistan, ethnographers and everyone interested in folklore on our next meeting in “Arzhang” Information and Cultural Center.  We will see all kinds of hats, learn more about their history and design, and talk about the prospects for the development of a multicultural society in Tajikistan.

“We kindly ask the representatives of nationalities bring their national caps.  And we will be glad to receive the gifts for our museum, if you have an extra cap for us!”
