KULOB, January 18, Asia-Plus - Seven cases of suicide were reported in Muminobod District ( Khatlon Province ) last year, according to information from the Kulob police directorate. 

“It is more than in each of ten districts of the Kulob region of Khatlon,” the source in the Kulob police directorate told Asia-Plus.  

The source says that in total, some 60 attempts of suicide were reported in the Kulob region last year.  The Asia-Plus interlocutor noted, “If earlier the majority of those who committed suicide in the region were women, now there are quite many men among suicide agents.” 

Commenting on the situation, the source said that the most suicides were motivated by family and economic problems.
